I baked and I took pictures for Tuesdays with Dorie this week... It feels so good to be back baking again. My family is ever so happy to have me baking again too. This week's recipe was Cinnamon Squares. What an easy recipe to come back to baking. Easy and delicious. The recipe was chosen by Tracey from Tracey's Culinary Adventures. Wonderful pick. You must go get the recipe.I followed the recipe with the exception of the pan. My metal pan has disappeared. So I had to use a retro corning ware pan that was a little larger than called for. So the squares were a little shorter but still a delight.
I also used chocolate chips because I didn't have minis and milk chocolate because I don't do bittersweet. So my beautiful swirl featured in most cakes was nonexistent.
Now go get the recipe!

Yay! Welcome back to baking! I'm glad you enjoyed this one.
Glad you got to bake this one. I didn't really have a swirl, either. But I just loved the flavors of this cake! Yours looks so rich and decadent.
These were so tasty. Your frosting looks so gooey and delicious. Glad you were able to make this one.
Thanks for baking with me! Your squares look great! I would have enjoyed milk chocolate as I'm not a huge fan of bittersweet either.
Your Cinnamon Square cake looks soo yummy! I don't think it matters about where the ribbon swirl ended up, it all tasted great in the end!
Looks tasty! I have no idea what happens to pans.. they just walk away..
Are pans like socks, one never shows up?
I think your cake looks great, swirl of no swirl. As long as it tastes great, nothing matters.
